CDP
Quick description
CDP is a global non-profit that runs a premier environmental disclosure platform for companies, cities, states and regions. Founded in 2000, CDP pioneered using capital markets and corporate procurement to motivate companies to disclose and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions; impacts on water security, forests, and biodiversity; and use of plastics. Today CDP works with more than 750 financial institutions responsible for over $135 trillion in assets. As a result, in 2024 nearly 25,000 organizations around the world disclosed data through CDP, including more than 18,000 companies worth over 66% of global market capitalization, and over 1,100 cities, states and regions. This constitutes the largest corporate and financial environmental reporting database in the world. CDP scores are widely used to drive investment and procurement decisions towards a net-zero, Earth-positive, sustainable and resilient economy.
